Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland is a model and actor. Alison Doody first made a film debut as a Bond girl in A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she was as a character in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. Doody portrayed Nazi sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider. Siobhan Doovan played Charlotte in Taffin in 1988. Rebecca Flannery starred in Major League II in 1994. Doody started modeling after being approached by a professional photographer. The result was a successful modeling career in the commercial world. Doody was adamantly against the glamour of thongs, nakedness and nudity when she was modeling. Doody was offered a tiny role in the film Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill when she was noticed by the director who cast her. Doody's name appeared within John Willis Screen World Vol. 12 of the most promising actors from 1986. 38. Still only 18 at the time she acted in the role Doody was - and remains one of the smallest Bond girl who has appeared in a film. A Prayer for the Dying starring Mickey Rourke also had a role for Doody in the character of IRA Siobhan. Doody was a silent actress in the 1987 version of The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream wife Lilias. The episode of the Storyteller Sapsorrow was her first leading part. It took place in 1988 with Dawn French, John Hurt along with Jennifer Saunders. She also appeared as Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. The most memorable role to date was as Austrian Nazi sympathizer as well as archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody was in the film alongside Sean Connery, who played Indiana Jones' father. Doody played co-starring in 1991 with Jonathan Pryce opposite the British miniseries Selling Hitler, which was an inspiration for the book fraud called the Hitler Diaries. Doody later moved to Hollywood. Chosen to replace Cybill Shepherd as spokeswoman for L'Oreal She went on to appear alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II as Flannery his agent and girlfriend. Doody was part of the 2004 British comedy The Actors. Michael Caine played her in a ceremony to receive an award. She also appeared in 2004 in a film with Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She played a role as a character in Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 pamphlet on the Holocaust. In 2010, Doody shot a part on Danny Dyer's feature film The Rapture (2010). Doody appeared on RTE's the medical thriller The Clinic. The project was later canceled. Her first two seasons of the E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way. She received the Almeria Tierra de Cinema award on 21 November 2018.
